Create the IFTTT Applet
- If you do not have an account with IFTTT. Sign-up at www.ifttt.com
- Click on the Explore button then click on the +. This takes you to www.ifttt.com/create
- In the search box, type in Webhooks.
- For the Event name, enter doorbell then click on Create trigger.
- Click the + and search for notifications
- Click on Send a rich notification from the IFTTT App
- Fill in the fields as shown then click on Create action.
- The image URL field can display a snapshot from your front camera. The example below is for a Foscam camera.
- To receive the battery voltage status with every notification, click on Add ingredient in the message field. Add value1 anywhere within the message. example - Battery voltage = 'value1' v
Test your IFTTT Applet
- To test that your applet is working, visit www.ifttt.com/maker_webhooks
- Click on the Documentation button.
- Type in doorbell in the url where it says {event}. Click on the Test It button. You should receive a notification from IFTTT App. If you do not, please review your Applet settings.
- Once you have the applet notification working, proceed to configuring your WiFi Doorbell Sensor using your unique IFTTT Key found on this Webhooks documentation page.
